Claude AI Connector Guide
Welcome to our new AI connector beta! This guide will walk you through how to connect your Grasshopper Business Banking account with Anthropic’s Claude. Once connected, you’ll be able to engage in a direct and secure conversation with your financial data through our Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, giving you personalized insights powered by leading artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Before You Begin
Before you connect your account to Claude, there are a few requirements to ensure a smooth and secure setup. The AI connector is designed for Business Banking clients using supported versions of Claude, and it relies on authenticated access to your financial data to deliver accurate insights. Please confirm you have the following before getting started:
- Grasshopper Business Banking Account: Access is limited to startup and small-to-medium business (SMB) clients on our Business Banking platform. You’ll need your digital banking login credentials to connect.
- Claude Subscription: A paid subscription to Claude Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise is required. The free version of Claude is not supported, as meaningful analysis requires access to larger datasets.
- Connector Permissions: Only the account owners can create new custom connectors on Claude team plans.

Step-by-Step Connection Guide
Connecting Claude to your Grasshopper account should only take a few minutes. To maximize security of your financial data, you may be prompted to log in regularly to re-establish the connection.
- Login to Claude.ai on the web or Claude Desktop app
- Navigate to Customize
- Select Connectors
- Click the “+” button
- Click Add Custom Connector
- In the dialog box that appears, copy and paste the following information:
- Name: Grasshopper Bank AI Connector
- Remote MCP Server URL: https://grasshopper-mcp.prd.narmitech.com/mcp
- Click Add
- Select the new Grasshopper Bank AI Connector from the Connectors list
- Click Connect
- After adding the custom connector and clicking connect, you will be redirected to the login page for our business banking platform.
- Login to Grasshopper
- Use your normal online banking credentials to login. You may also be prompted to complete multi-factor authentication.
- Review the terms of use, check the box “I accept the Terms of Use”, and select Confirm.
- Next is the Claude authorization screen. You must You must authorize the connection to proceed. Select Authorize.
- Once you authorize the connection, you will be redirected back to Claude, where a message will confirm the connection was successful.
- (Optional) To customize permissions, select the Grasshopper Bank AI Connector in the Connectors list.
- Review the tool permissions and toggle to Needs Approval, Always Allow, Custom, or Blocked depending on your preference.
Note: For your security, connections must be re-authenticated within Claude every 7 days to continue authorizing access to your bank account data.
First Chat with Claude
When you ask your first question, Claude will ask for permission to access your data.
Once granted, Claude can securely use your Grasshopper data to provide personalized insights, answer your questions, and assist with analysis. You can revoke access at any time through your by returning to Customize > Connectors > Grasshopper Bank AI Connector > Disconnect.
Once the connector is established, you can use it on Claude web, desktop app, or the mobile app.
